Become a dog groomer

Choose a useful way to learn, get supervised experience and build the judgement to know which work you can take on safely.

    Choose a course that gives you useful practice

    Know what the course teaches, who supervises you and what it cannot prove on its own.

    Get experience without practising beyond your ability

    Find supervised work where the task, stop point and review are clear before the dog arrives.

  3. Step 03

    Decide whether starting as a bather gives you the right foundation

    Compare a real training pathway with a role that only moves dogs through the bath.

  4. Step 04

    Show an employer what you can do honestly

    Prepare evidence of safe, repeatable work instead of relying on a certificate alone.

    Work out which services you are ready to do alone

    Treat independence as a set of permissions, not one graduation date.

    Keep learning once ordinary work takes over

    Build feedback and deliberate practice into a working week.
