Booking deposits charged on approval, one Booking protection setting, and partial invoice refunds
Booking deposits are charged only when you accept a request, one Booking protection setting covers late cancellations, and invoices take partial refunds.
If you review booking requests before accepting them, the customer's deposit is now charged only when you say yes. Deposits, saved cards and cancellation fees also share one setting, so customers see what a late cancellation costs before they book.
Booking deposits and booking protection
Deposits are charged only when you accept a request
With Manual Approval on, the customer picks a saved card or enters a new one when they book and authorises the deposit. Nothing is charged yet. When you choose Accept, Seglo charges the card for the pets you accepted, and their bookings become Confirmed once the payment goes through. Pets you haven't decided on aren't charged, and declining a request takes no money, so there's nothing to refund.
Customers get time to fix a declined card
If the card is declined or the bank asks for an extra check, the customer is sent a message asking them to finish paying in My Bookings. You're told as well, and the booking shows Payment needs attention, with Copy customer payment link so you can send them straight there. The time stays held while they sort it out.
Set how long they have under Time to resolve a payment issue: 1 to 72 hours after you accept, 24 by default, and never past the appointment start. If the deposit still isn't paid by then, the request expires, the time frees up, and you and the customer both hear about it.
Deposits, saved cards and cancellation fees in one setting
Booking settings → Booking protection now asks one question: how would you like to protect bookings? Pick one.
- No protection: no deposit, no saved card, and no fee for cancelling late or not turning up.
- Take a deposit: the customer pays a percentage upfront and it goes towards the bill. Cancel before your deadline and it's refunded in full. Cancel later or don't show, and you keep it, with no extra charge on top.
- Save a card: nothing is paid at booking. A late cancellation or no-show is charged the fee you set, as a percentage of the booking or a fixed amount.
With a deposit or a saved card, set Free cancellation until anywhere from 1 to 168 hours before the appointment. A $100 example beside the settings shows what the customer pays at booking, at the appointment, and if they cancel late. Changes apply to new bookings. Existing bookings keep the terms they were booked under.
See the cancellation cost before anyone confirms
Customers read your booking protection terms before they book, including the date free cancellation ends. When they cancel from My Bookings, the dialog tells them whether they'll get a refund, lose the deposit or have their card charged, before they confirm.
When your team cancels a booking, choose Who cancelled? and the dialog shows what will be refunded, kept or charged for that choice. If your business cancelled, the customer gets their deposit back in full. Mark no-show keeps the deposit, or charges the agreed fee to the saved card. Untick the charge to waive it for that visit.
Invoices
Edit an issued invoice in one go
Edit on an issued invoice now changes the due date, the private note and the amount owed, all in one save. You can lower what's still owed; raising it needs a new invoice. The menu beside it is down to Duplicate invoice, Pause reminders or Resume reminders, and Cancel invoice. On mobile, each one opens in a sheet over the invoice, and you can pull down to refresh.
A few actions have plainer names: Void invoice is now Cancel invoice, Mark uncollectible is Stop collecting payment, and a credit is now an Amount reduction.
Refund part of a payment
Choose Refund payment and enter any amount up to what's shown as Available to refund, for example $25 of a $100 payment. Money you already gave back outside Seglo, in cash or by bank transfer, can be recorded with the date and time it was returned. Recording it moves no money.
Receipts for paid invoices
A paid invoice shows Receipt and Send receipt, and no longer shows payment link or edit controls. Open the receipt to see the amount, date and payment method, and save it as a PDF. When you send it by email or text, you can change the address or mobile number for that receipt only. The client's saved details stay as they are.
Messages and team chat
Unread is now personal
Opening a customer conversation marks it read for you only. Each teammate keeps their own unread badge, so a text someone else has already opened still shows as new for you.
Archive a chat for yourself
Choose Archive chat on a customer or team chat to take it out of your inbox without changing anyone else's. The history stays searchable. Archived lists the chats you've put away, and Unarchive brings one back. A new message brings it back on its own.
Delete a chat for everyone
Delete chat for everyone removes a whole customer or team chat and its history for your entire business. It can't be undone. Messages already delivered to a customer stay on their phone, their next message starts a fresh chat, and a customer who opted out of texts stays opted out. Owners can do this straight away. Anyone else needs the Delete chats for everyone permission turned on in their staff permissions.
Reply to a team chat message
Choose Reply on a message in team chat to quote it in your answer. Click the quote to jump to the original, even when it's far back in the conversation.
Search team chat
Type at least two letters into Search team chat at the top of the chat list. Results come back in two groups: Chats by name, and Messages with the words you searched for.
Tell clients apart when you @mention them
When you type @ and pick a client, each suggestion shows their pet names and a phone number or email, so two clients with the same name are easy to tell apart. Those details stay in the suggestion list and are never posted in the chat. Contact details follow your access, and deleted clients no longer turn up in client search.
AI Receptionist
Add or drop a service while moving a booking
A customer moving a booking by phone or chat can now add a service or take one off at the same time, such as adding a nail trim. The receptionist reads back what's added and dropped, with the visit total before and after. The main groom can't be dropped, and every service they don't mention keeps the price it was booked at.
Moves start from the booking
Free times for a move come from the booking itself, with its pets, services and sizes, so customers aren't asked their dog's breed or weight again. If the day they want has no free time, they hear the next day that does. Asking to come in later today offers the times still free today, instead of being told the day has passed.
Chat to book handles bookings like the phone does
Chat to book on your booking page now finds a customer's bookings, cancels or moves them and takes callback requests the same way your phone receptionist does. Nothing changes until the customer confirms. A first-time customer can now get a quote and book in chat.
Online booking
Priced questions name the answer
In the booking summary, a question that adds to the price now shows the answer the customer chose, such as "Little Extra · Nails Trim, Nails & Paws Trim", instead of the question on its own. A service's price breakdown lists only the answers they picked.
Book for a customer on your own booking page
When you or a teammate books for a customer through your public booking page, the booking now goes to the customer whose details you entered. Before, it could be tied to your own account, and the customer was then turned away when they signed in to see it.
Booking details
On mobile, the booking details are now split into cards. Each heading carries its answer: the total and what's left to collect, the next groom, the number of notes. Each service line shows its total with the breakdown underneath. An empty section is a single add button, and Forms lists form titles and opens a submitted form in a sheet.
