Booking deposits, Stripe on any plan, and pet names on the client list

Take a deposit when customers book online, connect Stripe on any plan for a 0.5% fee per online payment, and see each client's pets on the client list.

Customers can now pay part of the groom when they book online, and you collect the rest at pickup. Connecting Stripe no longer needs a paid plan, and the client list shows each client's pets under their name.

Payments

Take a deposit when customers book online

Open Booking settings → Cancellations & payments, and under Booking payment turn on Require a card or deposit. Choose Take a deposit, enter a Deposit percentage from 1 to 100 and save. Customers then pay that share by card when they book online. Before paying they see the Booking total, the Deposit due now and what's Remaining at appointment.

With a 20% deposit on a $100 groom, the customer pays $20 online. After the groom, Take payment asks only for the $80 left, and you can take it in cash or by card. Deposits are off until you turn them on. They need Stripe connected and the Seglo payment fee terms accepted.

Connect Stripe on any plan, with a 0.5% fee per online payment

Connecting Stripe no longer needs a paid Seglo plan, and there's no extra payment subscription. Instead, Seglo takes 0.5% of each successful online payment through Stripe: a saved card charged for a booking, or a booking deposit. GST is included in the rate. Stripe's own processing fees are separate. Cash, card terminals and Tap to Pay carry no Seglo fee. Card terminals and Tap to Pay still need a paid plan.

Before you connect, a business administrator accepts the fee terms. Open Settings → Payment account on the web, or More → Settings → Payment Account on mobile, read Seglo payment fee, tick the agreement and choose Accept fee terms. Setup Payments stays unavailable until then. If Stripe is already connected, accept the terms before you take your next online payment.

The fee applies to bookings made after you accept. Earlier bookings carry no fee. When you refund a payment, the matching Seglo fee comes back to you. Payment fee history on the same page lists every fee, and you can download it.

Check your Stripe account when you come back from setup

After you leave Stripe's setup pages, Seglo shows Check your payment account. Choose Check account to see whether Stripe is ready to take payments, or Open payment settings to carry on where you left off.

Online booking

Bundle choices are named by service

When a customer picks the services in a bundle, each choice now shows the service's name, such as Teeth Brushing, instead of an option name like "Regular" repeated down the list. The booking summary lists the picks under the bundle as Included, and the booking bar on a phone counts the bundle once.

Pet details on file aren't asked again

A pet detail the customer has already answered, such as weight, is never asked again because the answer is old. Online booking fills it in as it was, without the "Last updated … ago, confirm or update" note, and the receptionist no longer asks callers to confirm it.

Clients

See each client's pets on the client list

Every row in Clients now reads name, pet names, then phone number. Up to three pets are listed by name, with a count such as "+2" for the rest. Email has moved off the row and is still on the client's details. This applies on the web, on the Clients tab on mobile and in Clients on the front desk, search results included. On mobile and the front desk, the round initials badge is gone, so each row starts with the name.

See where you talk to each client

A client's details now have Contact channels, listing each conversation you have with them, such as Instagram or Messenger, with their handle there. A contact you save from a conversation shows which channel it came from. Handles are shown only to team members who can see client contact details.

AI Receptionist

Callers can ask when their pet was last in

"When was Lola last in?" now gets the most recent visit, and paid visits count. A booking that hasn't happened yet is no longer read out as the last visit.

Callers can ask how today's groom is going

When Check grooming status is on for the location, a caller asking "Is she ready yet?" hears where their pet is in words: checked in, being groomed, or ready to collect. Until the pet is ready, the receptionist gives the ready time on the booking. It never guesses a time. If the setting is off or nothing has been recorded yet, it offers a call back from your team.

Cancels and reschedules are checked before the caller says yes

On calls and in chat, the receptionist checks that a cancel or reschedule will go through before it reads the change back for the caller to confirm. If it can't, the caller hears why and what to do instead: the booking is inside your cancellation window, the pet is already at the salon, the visit is already paid, or the booked time has passed. Before, a caller could agree to a change that was then refused.

When a pet has more than one upcoming booking, the receptionist asks which one the caller means before it cancels or moves anything, and nothing changes until they say. Cancelling for one pet in a visit cancels only that pet, never another pet the caller didn't name.

Reschedules use your real free times and never book twice

A reschedule now finds free times the same way a new booking does, so it follows your opening hours, roster and groomer availability. If the time a caller asks for isn't free, they're offered the nearest free times that day. Each pet stays with its groomer when that groomer is free at the new time; if not, the receptionist tells the caller who they'll be with instead. Moving a booking never creates a second appointment, and changing only the drop-off time on a drop-off booking now saves.

Shared and hidden numbers stay private

When several customers share one phone number, the receptionist no longer reads out pet names or the last service. It asks which pet the call is about. Callers can look up bookings only on the number they're calling from, and it never says whether someone else has a booking. A caller with a hidden number has to give the number and their pet's exact name to hear about a booking, and can't cancel or move it by phone.

Freed times can be booked again straight away

A time freed by a cancel or reschedule shows as free straight away. It could look busy for up to 15 minutes before.

Business closures on mobile

Choose which location's closures you're managing

If you have more than one location, More → Settings → Closures & days off now has a Location picker at the top. Pick a location to see and change its closures. The rest of the app stays on the location you had selected. Before, the page always used the app's current location.

Seglo on mobile

Pull-to-refresh shows every refresh

When you pull down to refresh, the o in the Seglo logo starts turning as soon as the refresh starts and makes at least two full turns before it closes. The gap in the ring is wider, so the turn is easier to see.

Get Started

Everything here is live in your Seglo account. To take deposits, accept the fee terms and connect Stripe in Settings → Payment account, then choose Take a deposit under Booking payment in Booking settings → Cancellations & payments. Turn on Check grooming status in Settings → Receptionist so callers can ask how their pet is going.
