Business closures with Australian public holidays, a service check for your receptionist, and a Messages filter on mobile

Add your state's public holidays as closure dates, answer the questions your AI Receptionist would otherwise guess, and filter Messages on mobile.

Business closures now come with your state's public holidays: pick the ones you close for and new bookings stop on those days.

Business closures and public holidays

Add Australian public holidays as closure dates

Open Manage closures on a location in Settings → Business profile, or More → Settings → Closures & days off on mobile, and tap Public holidays. Seglo lists the year's holidays for your location's state or territory from the Fair Work Ombudsman, with View official dates to check the source. Tick the days you close for, or use Select statewide dates, then add them. Holidays that apply to only part of a state are marked Check local dates and are left for you to choose. Holidays not declared yet show Date to be announced, and part-day holidays aren't included.

Close for a day or a whole break in one go

Add dates takes a Reason, such as an annual break, and a First day and Last day, so a two-week shutdown is one entry instead of fourteen taps. Your closure dates lists each year's closures by month, with earlier ones tucked under Past closures.

See what a closure cancels before you confirm

If a date already has appointments or waitlist entries, Seglo marks it and asks you to Review impact first. Close this day? shows how many appointments and waitlist entries will be cancelled and how many staff are rostered, with Notify affected customers and Notify scheduled staff switched on. Removing a closure later brings back your usual opening hours, but not the cancelled appointments.

AI Receptionist

Answer the questions your receptionist would otherwise guess

Settings → Receptionist has a new Service check. Seglo reads each service description and asks you, one question at a time, about what a caller might need to know and the description doesn't say, such as matting or what's included. Pick an answer or Write my own answer, and Seglo drafts the new description next to the old one for you to edit and Save description. Nothing changes until you save. Services customers asked about in the last month without booking come first. If your answer is really a booking rule, Seglo points you to Open service settings so the receptionist follows it rather than just mentioning it.

Callers hear why there's no time, and can join your waitlist

When nothing is free, the receptionist says why. A date past how far ahead you take bookings is "not open for booking yet", not "full", and the receptionist stops looking instead of trying week after week. A full day is checked forward to your last bookable day, up to 31 days ahead. If you run a waitlist, a returning caller can join it on the call for the service and pets already discussed. It's the same waitlist your online booking uses, so a freed slot can reach them. A first-time caller, a pet not on file yet, or a customer who can't book online gets a call back from your team instead.

Services matched to the right kind of pet

The receptionist now sees your services under your own categories. If a category names a kind of client, it only books into services that fit, so a cat isn't put into a full groom you list under dog grooming.

Messages and team chat

Filter Messages by number, channel or unread on mobile

Messages on mobile has one Filter button next to search. Choose a Number if you have more than one, a Channel such as SMS or Website when more than one is in use, or Unread only. The filter narrows the whole list, not just what's loaded. If nothing matches, Clear filter brings everything back. The Messages and Clients tabs also drop their page titles, leaving more room for the list.

Messages and team chat keep up when lots arrive at once

A burst of new messages no longer freezes Messages or team chat on the web or mobile. An open conversation adds what's new instead of reloading everything, the message you send appears straight away, and scrolling back through older messages isn't cut off by new ones arriving.

New messages and notifications arrive without a refresh

On the web, team chat messages and notification pop-ups could stop arriving until you reloaded the page. They now keep coming while the page is open.

Credits

Long automated texts are charged per segment

Automated texts, like reminders and follow-ups, now use credit for every segment they're sent as, matching the rate in Settings → Credits → Usage and rates. Until now a long automated text was charged as one segment. A text takes more segments when it's long or uses characters such as emoji or Chinese. Messages your team sends through Seglo Phone are separate.

Seglo on mobile

Pull-to-refresh turns at a steady pace

When you pull down to refresh, the o in the Seglo logo turns at an even speed until the refresh finishes, then closes back into the logo. It no longer pauses each time it redraws.
