Should you offer appointment times or drop-off windows?

Plan a day you can finish · Stage 2 of 5

Test a mixed day against skills, equipment, care, breaks and collection times.

Stage foundation: How many dogs can a groomer take in a day?

A fixed time promises that the shop is ready for that dog. A drop-off window promises flexibility. Either can work; trouble starts when the client hears one promise and the floor operates the other.

Use fixed times for a timed sequence

Choose appointment times when late arrival disrupts a particular groomer or resource. Space arrivals so the person checking in each dog can listen, inspect the coat and confirm the plan.

State what happens when someone is late. A precise time without a late-arrival rule is only precise on the calendar.

Use windows for pooled work

A window can suit a salon that stages several dogs through bathing, drying and finishing. Keep it narrow enough to plan and explain how pickup will be confirmed.

Do not present a morning drop-off as a short appointment if the dog may stay for hours. Owners can accept a longer visit when the expectation is clear before booking.

Separate arrival from completion

Whichever model you choose, give the owner a distinct ready-time promise. Arrival controls the running order; pickup controls their day and the salon’s holding space.

Seglo note: Appointment rules can keep bookable times aligned with the way your day is organised.
