Take card payments on a Tyro terminal, and see the surcharge on every sale

Tyro EFTPOS terminals now take payments straight from the counter checkout, card surcharges are recorded on every transaction, and refunds are protected against being sent twice.

Take card payments on a Tyro terminal

Pay on the terminal from the counter checkout

You can now send a sale straight to a Tyro EFTPOS terminal from the checkout screen. The amount goes to the terminal, the customer taps or inserts, and the booking updates itself when the payment clears — no keying the total in twice and no reconciling the two systems afterwards.

One terminal belongs to one shop

A terminal can only be paired to a single business, so a multi-site operator cannot accidentally have two shops taking money through the same device and finding it in the wrong day's takings.

Card surcharges are recorded on the sale

Where a surcharge applies, the amount is stored on the transaction itself rather than being folded silently into the total. It shows on the sale and flows through to your reports, so the fee is visible instead of being something you have to work out later.

Refunds

A refund cannot be sent twice for the same charge

The rule that stopped a booking being refunded twice now works per charge rather than per booking. A booking paid across two separate charges can have each one refunded properly, while a single charge still cannot be refunded more than once.

Gift cards

Gift card handling across the checkout

Gift cards behave consistently through the counter checkout — buying, redeeming and reporting all read from the same figures, so a gift card sale reconciles like any other tender.

A rebuilt seglo.ai

A new look for the public site

The homepage and the pricing page have been rebuilt on a single visual language, with the navigation and menus reworked to match. The pricing page states what each plan includes in plain terms rather than leaving you to infer it.

Smaller fixes

Booking and reports

A set of fixes across the booking flow and reporting so figures on the reports match the sales behind them.

Phone number handling behind the scenes

The telephony layer no longer names one specific carrier throughout, which is groundwork for supporting more than one provider. Nothing changes in how your numbers or calls behave.

What's Coming

  • Wider terminal support at the counter
  • More of the payments picture surfaced in reporting
