A Payments section for the money side, customers who can edit their own pet's profile, and a rebuilt Messages list

Payments is now its own section — every tender, what is still owed, refunds issued, bank payouts and an end-of-day cash count. Customers can edit their pet's profile themselves, and the mobile Messages list has been rebuilt around the conversation.

Payments

The money side has its own section now

Payments is a new section in the sidebar, holding five pages that answer five different questions:

  • Transactions — every payment as its own line, with the date, how it was paid, whether it went through, who took it and which customer it came from. Filter it, and the strip at the top totals what was collected, refunded and left outstanding for whatever you are looking at. Tap a line and the detail opens in a drawer rather than a new page.
  • Outstanding — what is still owed, across bookings. A negative balance reads as "refund due" instead of a minus sign you have to interpret.
  • Refunds — refunds that have already gone out, in one list.
  • Bank payouts — what your payment provider actually deposited, and the fees it took on the way. Only appears if your provider reports payouts.
  • Cash-up — count the till at the end of the day and record it against that day.

None of the five is gated on your plan. A shop that takes only cash still has takings, and should be able to see them.

Pay Runs has moved under Team, after Timesheets — paying staff is people work, not counter work. Booking Settlement has not moved; it is where it always was, under Bookings. The old Pay Runs link redirects, and the daily settlement email points at the new place.

Aggregate reporting has deliberately stayed where it is: Reports → Sales is still the place for totals. Payments is for individual money movements.

Two figures that were wrong are now right

An ordinary card payment was being filed under "Other" instead of Card. And a card hold — an authorisation that was never captured — was being counted as money you had taken. One shop was showing $800 of income that had never been collected. Both are corrected.

Counting the till on a day you already settled

Recounting a day that has already been settled is allowed. Seglo warns you, records who recounted it and when, and lets it through. A cash count is a record of a physical event, so the expected figure and the variance are frozen at the moment you counted — a late payment landing afterwards cannot quietly rewrite a discrepancy out of existence.

The daily summary email that stopped arriving

Settling a day used to suppress the next morning's summary email for that day, permanently. Seglo was checking whether a settlement record existed rather than whether the email had actually been sent — and settling creates that record. Now it tracks the send itself.

Your customers

A customer can pick their pet and edit its profile

On My Bookings, a customer can now choose one of their pets from the page header and open the full profile — everything you have ever asked about that pet, including the name — and change any of it.

Until now a customer could only fill in a blank. Anything already answered was, everywhere in Seglo, unchangeable by them: if a dog's coat type was recorded wrong at the first booking, it stayed wrong until you fixed it yourself. If a customer has pets at more than one shop, the list groups by shop.

Messages

Customer phone numbers are hidden from staff who should not see them

The Messages inbox — mobile and Front Desk — was showing full customer phone numbers to every staff member, regardless of whether they have permission to see client contact details. Call history, appointments, client search and bulk data had masked them for a long time; Messages had not. Now it masks the customer's number to match. Your shop's own number is not masked, and names never were.

Replying is unaffected: threads that could be replied to before still can.

The mobile Messages list, rebuilt

Two grey bars used to sit above the first conversation. Now there are none.

Picking which number you are looking at moved to the top right of the header, where it always shows the number you are currently viewing — before, the selected number could scroll off the side of the screen. Tapping it opens a picker.

The list itself: unread and awaiting-reply dots sit next to the name rather than in a margin, so names line up whether or not there is a dot. Customer names are the same size as they are in your client list. The phone number moved down beside the preview, which straightens the time column. Every row is now exactly the same height.

Loading a conversation looks like a conversation

Opening the inbox draws the shape of the rows while they load, rather than spinning. Opening a thread shows message-shaped placeholders at the bottom instead of a blank white screen you could not tell apart from an empty conversation.

Asterisks and backticks are gone

**bold**, *italic* and `code` in a message now render as bold, italic and code — on mobile, in Front Desk, and in the chat widget on seglo.ai. Line breaks in a message are kept.

Photos in a thread actually appear

Photos sent to or from your shop were not loading in the mobile thread at all. They now show at the right size on the first frame. And tapping the message box no longer throws the list to the top and drops it back down.

Seglo Phone

A staff member on a call is not rung by a second number

If your shop has more than one phone number, a call to the second number used to ring everyone — including whoever was already on a call at the first. Their handset offers one option in that situation, "End & Accept", which cuts off the customer they are talking to.

Now the ring set skips anyone already on a call. If everybody is on a call, the call goes to your AI receptionist or voicemail as it would if nobody were available. If Seglo cannot read who is busy, it rings everyone — a missed ring beats a dropped customer.

Missed calls stop buzzing the appointments app

Missed calls, declined calls, callback requests and voicemails were pushing to every device on the account — the appointments app, iPad and desktop web included. Those five notifications now go to the Seglo Phone app only, which is where you act on them. Overdue-text reminders are unchanged; both apps have an inbox.

The call log records who hung up, and why

A call record now says whether the caller, your staff member or the AI receptionist released the line, along with the technical disconnect reason. Where the phone system genuinely cannot tell — a call that timed out, was reaped after a restart, or was forwarded to an outside line — it stays blank rather than guessing.

Help and support

Live chat on seglo.ai, and a way to reach us from inside Seglo

The chat on seglo.ai is now built and run by Seglo rather than a third party. The AI answers around the clock and says so; a person takes over from there.

Settings → Support is a real support page again. It used to send you to your own customer SMS inbox, which is not a way to reach us. It now carries the same chat, docked into the page, with your name and email already filled in.

Search across Learn

The grooming library at /learn is searchable — from the header on any page, and from the library itself.

Fixes

  • Six phrases in the public booking funnel had no translation and appeared in English on a non-English site. Now translated.
  • A photo with a caption in the Seglo Phone chat no longer leaves a strip of empty bubble beside it.
  • Direction arrows in Seglo Phone's Recents are smaller and sit next to the name instead of dominating the row. The warning colour used for declined calls is now dark enough to read.
  • The old blue "S" icon has been fully retired — browser tabs and the installable web app now use the current mark.

Get Started

Payments is in your sidebar now. Start with Transactions to see every payment as its own line, and Cash-up at the end of a trading day.

Check where Pay Runs lives — it is under Team now.

If you use Seglo Phone, missed-call notifications now arrive on the phone app only.
