Call protection, call transfer in the browser and phone access by number

Keep a dropped call on the line while you reconnect or a teammate takes over, transfer and join calls in the browser, and choose who answers each number.

Keep a call when your connection drops

On a call in your browser, a Wi-Fi drop no longer cuts your customer off. They hear "One moment please, we are just reconnecting you." and stay on the line for about 35 seconds. Your call card shows Reconnecting… with the seconds left and picks the call back up when your internet returns. Reloading the page mid-call rejoins it. This covers calls you answer and calls you make.

Take over a dropped call

With Browser calls on, Calls now shows Live calls above your call history, including any call marked Dropped with who it dropped from and the seconds left. Anyone who answers that number can click Join and take the customer straight away.

If nobody picks it up in time, your customer hears that the team will call them back, and a callback is created in Callbacks for the person they were talking to. A dropped call no longer goes to voicemail.

Join a teammate's call

Click Join on a call marked On call when a teammate needs help, and confirm in Join this call?. Everyone hears everyone, your customer included, and the call card shows who else is there, such as With Anna. Call history reads Sam joined or Sam took over. You can join only calls on numbers you answer.

Transfer a call from the browser

During a call in your browser, use the transfer button in the call card. Transfer to lists your teammates with what each is doing, and you can pick anyone marked Available. Your customer hears hold music until they answer. If they don't, the call rings you again with didn't answer.

Team calls on Calls shows each line's live calls and what each teammate is doing.

Choose who answers each number

Each Seglo Phone number now has its own list of up to 5 people, whatever shop they work at. Someone on two numbers rings on both and counts on both. The owner is on every number.

  • In Settings → Seglo Phone → Devices, each number shows its places, such as 3 of 5, or Full, with Add someone and Remove.
  • On a team member's profile, tick the numbers they answer under Phone numbers.
  • Someone you give phone access counts as soon as you send the invite, shown as Invited · not joined yet. An invite that expires stops counting.

A role for each app

In Team → Staff permissions, Roles now has a row per app: Booking App (Manager, Front desk or Staff), Phone App (Phone staff or Phone manager) and Whole business. Changing one leaves the others alone.

Add Team Member now has two steps. The second sets their Apps, Booking role, Phone role and numbers, each number showing +$29/month or Included. Nobody is added until you press Invite or Add without invite.

Call handling for each number

In Settings → Seglo Phone → Numbers, every number that takes calls now has its own Call handling: ringing, recording, missed call text and voicemail. Your current settings carried over.

A shop that already has a number can now get a second one with Add a number. For a new number, the last step is Submit request and nothing is charged then. The $149 setup is charged with your first month, once the number is live.

Away message

Settings → Away message replies for you when a client messages while you're closed, on SMS, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. It goes once each time you close, using each location's opening hours. A text the AI receptionist answers gets no away message.

Messages

  • Replies sent from the Instagram, Messenger or WhatsApp apps now appear in the conversation, marked Sent from Instagram (or Messenger or WhatsApp).
  • WhatsApp history. Connect a number that already uses the WhatsApp Business app and up to six months of past conversations come into Messages.
  • Read ticks. One grey tick when sent, two when delivered, and two blue ticks once the client has read it on WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger.
  • Send without waiting. Your message appears as soon as you press Send and goes out in the order you typed. If it fails, the text goes back into the message box.
  • Client details beside the chat. On a computer, Client shows the client's pets, next appointment and notes.

Calls

Search call history by name or number, with All calls, Missed calls and Voicemail tabs and Filters for handler and direction. In New call, type a name, phone number or email and pick from Matching clients. Opening Calls clears your missed call badge.

Book the time you chose

When you deliberately book or move something that clashes, you now get the warning with Override instead of a refusal: a full time, a break over a booking, a busy groomer or a fully booked room, Book Next's Other time, adding, changing or removing a service, or an assistant who isn't rostered. This applies to owners and anyone who can edit bookings. Customers booking online still follow your rules.

  • Waitlist offers for a taken time. A customer can now accept an offer you sent by hand for a time that's already booked.
  • Move a drop-off pickup on its own. Change a drop-off booking's End Time and only the pickup moves.

Fewer, grouped staff notifications

Routine booking and shift updates now reach staff as one grouped app notification within 15 minutes. Anything starting within 2 hours still goes straight away. Edits to a booking's time, services, labels and notes stay in its history without notifying staff. Cancellations, client reschedules and @mentions still notify.

In Settings → Notifications → Team, New assignments chooses App push or Do not notify for bookings assigned to staff. Staff no longer get emails about everyday work; payslips, invitations and sign-in codes still come by email.

Pay by store

Pay Overview now lists every pay period in one table, with All and Needs action filters. In a pay run, someone who worked at two stores shows their hours at each, with wages and commission split By store.

The AI receptionist remembers the pet

When a returning customer texts or chats, the AI receptionist now knows their pet's details and what it had last time. It offers that service again and doesn't ask for a size you already have.

Also in this update

  • The calendar shows the whole day, midnight to midnight, on a computer and on mobile.
  • Cancel shift replaces Skip this day on the schedule and asks first. On mobile, a day on leave reads On leave with Undo leave.
  • Deductions show as minus in pay details and no longer count as bonuses.
  • Square bookings are never counted in a store's settlement, even with Square's payment attached.
  • Moving from Square one shop at a time. Finish the move in Settings → Data migration lists each shop, so one can stop Square sync while another keeps trading in Square.
  • One reminder, not two. A customer who books close to their appointment no longer gets the same reminder twice.
  • Browser calls recover on their own after a Wi-Fi or VPN change, without reloading the page.
