  • Everyone starts when you open and works the same hours.
  • Every dog takes the minutes you put in, and every dog is finished before you close.
  • Any groomer can bath and any groomer can finish. It does not have to be the same one.
  • The drying field counts only time without a dedicated groomer. Count hands-on drying with the finishing minutes. The example needs a drying pause and cannot model a fully hands-on visit.
  • Nothing is set aside for lunch, check-in, checkout, or a dog that does not turn up.
  • There is a dog waiting for every slot you free up. Capacity is not demand, and this page cannot see your diary.

How many dogs a day can one groomer do?
Enter your own bath, dry and finish times to estimate it. Count any drying that needs a person as hands-on time; only put suitable processing time in the drying field.
Why does drying time change the answer?
The example lets a groomer work on another dog during the drying pause. It only applies when that part of drying does not need a dedicated person.
What if a dog cannot be left on a dryer unattended?
Count drying that needs a person in the finishing minutes. The drying field is only for a pause without hands-on work. If every minute needs a groomer, this calculator does not model your setup.
How many dryers does a grooming salon need?
Enough that a groomer never finishes a bath with nowhere to put the dog. Multiply your groomers by your own drying minutes, divide by the minutes a groom needs a person for, and round up. If your figures are two groomers, 45 minutes of drying and 75 minutes of hands-on work, that is two dryers. If your drying runs to 90 minutes, it is three.
Is it my groomers or my dryers holding the day back?
Whichever runs out of minutes first. Your groomers can take one dog every bath-plus-finish minutes; each dryer can take one dog every drying minutes. The calculator runs your day minute by minute and reports what one more of each would actually add, which is the form the question is usually being asked in: does the next dollar go on a person or on a piece of equipment.
