Seglo tells you which days are short-staffed, who can cover the shift, and what it earns

See which days need another groomer, why, who can cover the shift and what it earns, then invite them in one step. Plus one Google review text per customer.

Until now, knowing you were short a groomer next Thursday meant reading the calendar and doing the arithmetic yourself. Seglo now does it for each location and each day, tells you what to add and who could fill it, and turns an accepted invite into a real shift.

Staff rostering: see the gap, fill the shift

Every day gets a staffing verdict, with the reason

Open Team → Schedule and each day is marked: fine, worth watching, needs attention, capped by something you can't roster your way out of, or not enough data to say. Attention days come with the evidence — the demand you're turning away and the hours you actually have.

What to add, not just that something's wrong

A staffing card names the window and the role: not "you're short on Thursday" but "you need one bather, 10:00 to 3:00, at Richmond". Change the time or swap the person before you send it.

Who can actually work it

Candidates are filtered on the things that would otherwise waste an invite: the skills the role needs, who's on leave, who's already committed at another location, who has an invite outstanding, and who has told you they're available.

What filling it buys you

Before you invite anyone, the card shows what the extra hours would do — the bookings that become possible if the shift is filled. If that number doesn't justify the shift, don't send it.

Invites become shifts, not messages you have to chase

Send the invite and track it on the card. When someone accepts, the shift is created and the roster updates; if the slot filled while they were deciding, or they went on leave, or it clashes with something they're already rostered on, the invite is withdrawn rather than quietly creating a double booking. Once the extra hours are live, anyone waiting on your waitlist for that window is re-matched automatically.

Plan a week and check it before you commit

The planning grid marks the days with a problem, and a Staffing check panel reads a week you're still drafting — so you find the gap while you're building the roster, not after it's published.

On your phone

Team on mobile lists the same suggestions with the same invite flow, and a staffing notification opens straight to the day it's about.

Google review texts: one ask per customer, from your own number

Manage upcoming and past invitations

Front Desk → Review texts shows who's being asked today and tomorrow — or any date you pick — with the actual message and photo that will be sent. Skip a visit, move it to another date, restore something you skipped, or resume a request that was held because the customer replied. History groups by customer with the last time you asked, whether it was delivered, and the messages that actually went out.

Each customer is asked once, ever

A customer who has received an automatic Google review invitation won't get another one — not for a second dog, not at a second location, not after they change their phone number. The cooldown setting is gone: a skip, a cancellation or a failed delivery doesn't use up their one ask.

Texts send from your Seglo Phone number

Automatic review texts require a working Seglo Phone number at the location of the appointment, and settings show you which number that is and whether it's ready. There's no email fallback and no borrowing another site's number. Saving a review link or connecting your Google listing no longer switches texting on by itself — you turn it on deliberately, and if the number is later lost you can still stop and skip while keeping your history.

Your daily email is now a shop briefing, not a takings slip

It tells you what needs you

The settlement email opens with the things still outstanding: bookings not checked out and how much they're worth, revenue with no staff attached, requests waiting on you, customers who haven't replied, waitlist offers about to expire and how many people are waiting, missed calls, voicemail and callbacks, anyone who forgot to clock out, and recurring bookings that failed to generate. If nothing needs you, the section doesn't appear.

It tells you how the day went

Who worked and from when to when, who was off, how many bookings you did, who was in, what time the first one started, new customers against regulars, gift card income, the names behind every no-show and cancellation, and a comparison with the same day last week.

The money adds up, twice, honestly

Takings are shown two ways that each balance on their own: what you collected (cash, card, gift card) and what you billed (per person, plus anything unassigned). They aren't forced to agree with each other.

The report link works

The View full report button at the bottom of that email had no link behind it and never has. It now opens that day's settlement report. Pressing Settle the Day also sends the same email the scheduled one does — it used to send a shorter version missing the checkout section.

Customers can confirm they're coming, from their own bookings page

If you have customer confirmation switched on, a customer opening a booking in My bookings now sees a Confirm you'll be there card and can confirm in one tap — on desktop and on their phone. It shows as confirmed on your calendar the same way an email confirmation does, and a booking with several dogs confirms in one go. The link in the reminder email still works exactly as before.

Pet records

The pet card, rebuilt

A pet's card now leads with identity, visits and spend, then care notes, photos, grooming care and visit history in a fixed order. Lifetime totals count completed visits by your own local days and net spend after refunds, including gift card payments. You can upload photos to a pet directly, in batches, without going through a booking. Visit history shows five by default and expands.

AI notes cite where they came from

Handover notes are generated from completed appointments and each point names its source and date, so you can check it. Two show by default and the rest expand. The old numeric scores are gone.

Notes per body part

Grooming records take a written note against each body part, with a summary you can click back into.

Catalogue

Product photos show up where you pick products

Photos you uploaded to a product were stored and then displayed nowhere. They now appear in the desktop product list, the mobile catalogue card and the add-to-bill picker. Shops with no product photos keep the same compact rows as before.

Add photos while creating the product

You can attach photos on the create form instead of saving, reopening and adding them. Pressing Create New Product from a search now carries the name you just typed into the form.

Phone receptionist takes real bookings

Your voice receptionist was running a generic script — it never received your service list, your staff, your locations or your opening hours, so it couldn't turn a call into a booking and fell back to taking a callback. It now gets the same briefing your chat receptionist does, built from your own business, and understands a service by the name a caller would say rather than an exact catalogue entry. A service it can't match to exactly one of yours is refused out loud instead of guessed.

Daily Briefing has moved into Schedule

The Daily Briefing page is gone. Everything it showed — the day's visits grouped by stage, care flags, customer requests, pet and internal notes, and the one next action — is the Activity tab on Schedule, reading the same information. Tonight's review asks now sit at the top of that board, and the "looks like the wrong booking" hand-back for voice notes is on the booking's own row. Old briefing links and notifications redirect there.

Moving from Square

Square connections now request the extra read permissions reporting needs: orders, payments, refunds, timecards, workweek settings, loyalty and gift cards. Without them an imported booking can't carry revenue, tips, refunds or how it was paid, and past rosters are invisible to staffing suggestions. Everything requested is read-only. If your Square account is already connected, reconnect it once to pick these up.

Smaller changes

  • Recent appointments on a pet parent's page line up by date, with the status under the time.
  • The Seglo wordmark replaces the icon in the site header, and web push notifications show the Seglo icon instead of your browser's default.
  • Booking horizon, waitlist expiry and pending appointment sweeps run on their own schedule rather than the website's, so they keep running regardless of deploys.
