Staff set their own availability, and accept shift invitations from their phone

Staff enter the hours they can work and accept or decline shift invitations on their phone. Plus return visits as a daily follow-up list, free on every plan.

Last release Seglo started telling you which days were short-staffed and who could cover. The missing half was the staff member's side: you had to know their availability yourself, and an invite was a message you then had to chase. Both are now in the app.

Staff availability: they tell you the hours they can work

Each person sets their usual week, and changes one day when they need to

A staff member opens You → My availability on their phone and enters the hours they normally work each day, then overrides a single date when something comes up. A date override replaces that day only. A new usual week applies from the week it starts, so changing it never rewrites what they said about weeks already past.

Hours run to end of day rather than 23:59, so "until we close" doesn't leave a one-minute gap. Times are wall-clock, so 9:00 every Tuesday stays 9:00 through a daylight-saving change.

Setting availability is not a roster permission

Staff can enter their own availability without being given any access to the roster. You can also enter it on their behalf, and the record shows it came from you and when.

Candidates now say yes, no, or not yet told us

When you're filling a shift, each person is one of three states rather than a plain available/unavailable: the hours they've told you they can work that day, unavailable because they said so, or nothing on record yet. A day nobody has filled in stays unknown — it never silently turns into "can't work". Whichever it is, the reason is on the row.

Shift invitations arrive as something staff can act on

An invitation inbox, on web and on mobile

Invitations land in their own inbox with a badge for anything waiting on a reply. Opening one shows the date, the hours and the location, with Accept and Decline. Accepting creates the real shift; the roster updates and the invitation stops being outstanding.

The notification opens the invitation, not the app's home screen

Shift notifications now go straight to the invitation they're about, on desktop and on mobile. The wording is shorter, times are twelve-hour, and this year's dates drop the year.

Invite progress is on the day itself

The schedule shows each day's demand as Awaiting reply, Unfilled, Shift confirmed or Time open. Click the day for a breakdown: how many people are confirmed against how many are needed, who hasn't replied, and each invitation's own state — accepted, awaiting reply, declined, expired or withdrawn. Different invited windows stay separate, so a confirmed shift and open booking time aren't confused for each other.

Planning opens over the schedule

Building next week's roster opens as a drawer over the schedule instead of pushing you to a full page, and the staffing signal now sits on the week grid itself rather than in a side panel — so you see the day with a problem while you're drafting. Publishing lists the draft shifts you're about to send.

Return visits is a daily follow-up list

Clients → Return visits opens on To book, grouped into Overdue and Next 14 days, so the list answers "who do I call today". Search is always on screen, and you can switch to Booked or All pets in one tap. Every row shows the pet's photo, who it belongs to, when it's due and a Book button.

Return visits and grooming care are now free on every plan. They were previously limited to Scale; that restriction is gone and no billing changes.

Pet photos on mobile

The photo album is one horizontal row of thumbnails, and opening a photo now fills the screen instead of floating a small frame in black. Swipe through the whole album from wherever you tapped, pinch to zoom up to 4x, drag to pan, double-tap in and out. A before/after pair stays one tile in the grid and pages as its two photos, each with its own date. The close button is reachable again — it was sitting under the status bar in the app.

Mobile navigation

More is grouped by what you're doing rather than one long list: personal pages under My Work, Dashboard, Insights and Month close under Reports, Return visits under Clients, Staff Pay and Leave Approvals under Team, About and Sign Out under Settings.

Page transitions were rebuilt: pages no longer flash before sliding in, the page behind stays visible during a swipe back instead of disappearing at the end, and a fast swipe finishes fast while a slow drag settles gently. Frequently-used pages preload while the app is idle.

Two smaller mobile fixes: tapping the customer search when creating a booking now opens the keyboard first time, and the "hold to speak" tip shows once and stays gone, including after you reopen the app.

See the menu a team member will actually see

The access editor answered in permissions — "client: see, edit". It now also draws the real sidebar and the real app menu as that person would get them, redrawn as you tick. Pages they can't open stay listed, dimmed and marked Hidden, so you can see exactly what one more tick would open up.

Square visits count in your reports

A visit imported from Square where the money was recorded in Seglo now counts in reporting the same as a booking made in Seglo. Imported visits are also identified properly rather than being guessed from where the booking came from.

Report a problem

There's now a Report a problem box in the avatar menu — one text field, nothing else to fill in. It goes to us with the context needed to find it, so a fault you hit doesn't depend on you emailing about it later.

Smaller changes

  • A booking for several pets no longer loses one of them when the receptionist saves a draft.
  • Texting a number typed with spaces works instead of failing.
  • Waitlist offers expire at the time they say they do, no matter which time zone the work runs in.
  • The points, tiers and rewards loyalty programme has been removed. It never had working features behind it, only menus and pricing rows announcing it.
  • Your dashboard's booking count now includes bookings nobody has paid for yet, so today's number matches what's on the calendar.
