A Free plan for solo groomers, a seven-question setup, and the Pet Card on every plan

Seglo's Free plan covers one groomer and one location. Set up a shop in seven questions, use the Pet Card on any plan, and let customers sign in by mobile.

A one-groomer shop can now run its calendar, online bookings and pet records on Seglo without paying for a plan. New shops set up by answering seven short questions, and the Pet Card is no longer limited to Growth.

Free plan for solo groomers

What Free includes

Free is $0 for one groomer at one location: calendar and online bookings, client and pet profiles, the Pet Card, grooming notes and photos, waitlist, booking and cancellation rules, email reminders (fair use), and the mobile and iPad apps. Pay calculation and commission work for you as the one person. SMS is $0.06 per segment from prepaid credit, with no monthly credit included.

Online payments, Tap to Pay and saving a customer's card are not part of Free. On Free, Payments and Reports don't appear in the menu, and the Return visits card in Settings explains which plan includes it instead of opening a page you can't use.

A trial ends on Free, not a locked account

At the end of setup you choose Free or a 14-day Starter trial, with no card required. If a trial ends without a subscription, or a subscription is cancelled, the business moves to Free. Clients, bookings, pay records and payment history stay. Refunds on earlier payments still go through. Other team members stay on record, but only one person can take bookings on Free; upgrading brings their access back.

Starter and Growth

Starter ($49/month) adds online payments and Tap to Pay, sales, booking and client reports, Return visits, gift cards and service bundles, up to three groomers and $10 a month of messaging and AI credit.

Handbook now needs Growth ($99/month) or higher. If you use Handbook on a lower plan, your sections and each person's reading history are kept and come back when you move to Growth. Prices are in AUD, excluding GST.

Grooming business setup in seven questions

One question at a time, starting from grooming presets

New owners start on a Welcome to Seglo screen with a single Terms of Service and Privacy Policy agreement, then answer one question per screen: business details, address, services, team and working hours. Address search now finds unit and shop numbers, and you can type the address in yourself if search can't find it. Services start from grooming presets with starting prices you edit by size, coat and handling, and each collapsed card shows its price. If you imported data from another system, it's kept.

Logo, booking link and apps before you pick a plan

Upload your logo on the last step. Seglo checks whether your booking link is free as you type, and Preview opens your booking page in a new tab with your services, prices, address and opening hours before anything is published. The next page shows your booking link and the iPhone and Android app downloads together, and then you choose your plan. Publishing online stays optional.

A first-booking checklist on the schedule

A new owner lands on Get your first booking: publish your booking page, add your first client, make your first booking. Each step ticks off however you did it, and you can hide the card. An empty day now says why it's empty: "Closed on Sundays" links to your opening hours, and a day with nobody rostered links to the team schedule.

Pet Card on every plan

The Pet Card was a Growth feature. It's now on every plan, including Free.

Design the card by ticking the details you want

Settings → Pet Card shows the card next to a searchable library of details. Tick a row to add it, and edit a question's wording and answer choices directly on the card; Seglo arranges the layout. Questions you wrote yourself sit alongside the built-in pet, client and appointment questions with a Yours tag. Yes/no answers show as a tick or a cross. A question that affects pricing lists the services it prices, and Edit prices opens that service.

Vaccination status that expires

If your form asks for vaccination status and expiry date, the card shows Vaccinated, Vaccination due soon, Vaccination expired or Vaccination unknown, with the date underneath. A past expiry date counts as expired even if "up to date" was ticked. An expired vaccination shows as a hazard on the Now Board for whichever day you're viewing, so next month's booking flags a certificate that lapses before then. The expiry date is now an optional field on the default pet intake form. If you don't ask about vaccinations, no badge appears.

Last groom filled in from real visits

Seglo works out a pet's last groom from its completed visits and shows it on the card. Online booking, quotes and the AI receptionist stop asking customers when the pet was last groomed, and a service priced on time since the last groom uses the real date. A pet with no visits counts as a first visit.

Grooming routine shows the pet's own interval

A pet with no routine of its own now reads Not set with a Set button, instead of showing your shop default as though a plan existed. The routine opens in its own dialog on desktop and a sheet on mobile. On a pet parent's page, team notes, photos, next groom, visit history, completed visits and total spent sit in one Grooming record below the card.

Internal grooming record on each appointment

Booking details has an Internal grooming record that only your team sees, with four optional questions: I checked this visit, Behaviour this visit (from calm to needed a muzzle or bit a staff member), Incident (a nick, clipper burn, got loose) and Health observed (a lump, a hot spot, signs of an ear infection). Seglo records who saved it, and it stays separate from the body-area record the customer can see.

Customers sign in with a mobile number

Email or mobile, same six-digit code

Customers can sign in with an email address or an Australian mobile number, on the sign-in page and inside online booking. The code arrives by text from "Seglo". A number that already belongs to another account is refused rather than merged into it.

A contact number for each visit

Each booking now keeps the phone and email for that visit, so when a partner drops the dog off, the pickup text goes to them. It's captured at the booking review step, on walk-ins and waitlist entries, from the caller on a receptionist booking, and you can override it when creating a booking in the console. Recurring bookings copy it. Reminders, ready-for-pickup texts, photo shares, receipts, review texts and closure cancellations all use it, and booking details shows it. Bookings made before this release use the client's details.

A client with a phone number but no email now receives closure cancellations too, and a placeholder number such as +61 400 000 000 no longer matches an unrelated client.

Private online booking and groomer choice

Online booking for existing clients only

Appointments › Settings › Who can book online is either Anyone (the default, unchanged) or Existing clients only. With existing clients only, customers sign in before they see your services. Anyone who matches one of your clients books as normal. Anyone else sees your location's phone and email, and no booking or client record is created. Your booking page shows Existing clients only with a lock beside the location details, and the sign-in step links to the Terms and Privacy Policy.

Decide whether customers pick their groomer

Appointments › Settings › Choosing a team member offers Customers choose or You assign. If you never change it, your booking page works exactly as it does today. Drop-off businesses can now let customers choose too. The setting covers online booking and the chat receptionist; you can still ask your own Seglo AI whether Sarah is free at 2. A change can take up to a minute to show on your booking page.

Blacklisted customers can't book online

Blacklisting now stops online booking on every business, not only private ones. It holds when the customer has two client records, signs up a new account with the same number, or tries to reschedule a booking they already hold. You can still book and reschedule for them.

Seglo AI support inside Seglo

Ask Seglo AI sits at the bottom of the sidebar and opens a panel in the bottom-left corner, so you can ask without leaving the page you're on. It no longer asks for a phone number or contact details first. Conversations are saved to your account: resume one, start a new one, or delete it, and a question that fails stays in the box to send again. Answers are short and link straight to the page they describe, such as Booking settings. The panel header is one row, and the text box is ready to type into as soon as it opens. The same assistant is under Settings → Support. It explains and points you to the right place; it doesn't change your settings.

Help articles on saved cards, charging no-shows, checkout from the schedule, zero-balance gift card checkout, client lookup and private booking were checked against the product and corrected, and the assistant answers from the corrected versions.

New sidebar

Sections expand to show their pages, and only the page you're on is highlighted. Handbook has moved under Team, Settlement is now Booking settlement, and Settings stays fixed above your account, which shows your name and email. The business switcher is simpler. Your avatar shows a dot when a shift invitation is waiting. The Settings page groups destinations by section, each with its own illustration.

Smaller changes

  • Week starts on in the schedule's display menu sets which day your week begins, for you only. It follows your account to other devices and doesn't change pay periods or reports.
  • The dashboard's average ticket is no longer pulled down by Square-imported visits with no money recorded in Seglo.
  • Xero daily summaries no longer include payments Square already collected, which your accountant receives from Square.
  • Pay overview shows the setup prompt for a business with no pay rules, instead of pay periods Seglo made up.
  • Seglo Phone rings only team members with phone permission, and removing that permission stops their handset ringing.
  • Report a problem now sends the page you were on, your device and recent errors with your message, and says so in the box.
  • An owner or staff account that books with another business opens My bookings instead of a no-access page.
  • The booking drawer header shows the phone number after the names, without the gap under the pet's name.
