Grooming Care: each pet's care cycle, the pets that need follow-up, and Auto Book for the next groom
Set each pet's care cycle, see its suggested next groom and whether it's booked, follow up the pets that aren't, and let Auto Book book the next groom.
Every dog needs grooming again at some point. Set how often, finish grooms as you normally do, and Seglo works out when each pet's next groom should be and whether it's booked. Clients → Grooming Care lists the pets that need follow-up, and Auto Book can book the next visit for you. Owners see the same thing from their own account.
Grooming Care
Set a care cycle per pet, not per client
Open a pet from Clients → Directory and set its care cycle — how many weeks between grooms, from 1 to 24 — or leave it on your shop's default from Settings → Grooming Care. Two dogs in one household can be on different cycles. Saving a care cycle never creates a booking.
See the suggested next groom, worked out from the last completed groom
When a groom is completed it becomes the pet's last groom, and the suggested next groom moves to last groom plus the care cycle — shown as "Around 29 Oct". No-shows and cancellations leave both where they were. There's no extra step at checkout.
Stop a nail trim from pushing the full groom back
Open a service from Catalog → Services and tick Doesn't reset the care cycle. Completing it leaves the pet's last groom and suggested next groom unchanged. Every service counts until you tick it.
Find the pets that aren't booked, in one list
Clients → Grooming Care → Needs follow-up lists a pet when it isn't booked and its suggested groom has passed or falls in the next 14 days, when a booked groom was cancelled or missed and nothing replaced it, when Auto Book couldn't find a suitable time or couldn't fit the owner's pets into one visit, or when its booking is later than the suggested date. Each row says why it's there and gives you one action. Other tabs cover Booked, Care cycle not set, All pets and Auto Book.
Book the next groom without retyping it
Book next groom opens the booking form with the pet, its last service and the suggested date already filled in. Any booking counts, however it was made — front desk, online, or Auto Book.
Auto Book
Book the next visit from each pet's care cycle
Auto Book books an owner's next visit so nobody has to remember to rebook. Start it at checkout with Plan the next groom, or from the Auto Book section on the owner's record. Each pet keeps its own care cycle even when pets share a visit, and appointments are confirmed straight away.
Give it room around the suggested date
Settings → Grooming Care sets how many days either side of the suggested date Auto Book may book, from 0 to 14. With 0 it books the exact day. Another of the owner's pets joins the same visit when its own suggested date falls inside that same window.
Together or not at all
If no time fits all the owner's due pets, nothing is booked and the pets show in Needs follow-up. Auto Book never splits them into separate bookings, never books over an existing appointment, and waits for the roster to be published rather than failing.
Pause or stop without losing bookings
Pause stops new bookings until you resume; Stop ends Auto Book. Confirmed appointments stay in both cases, and you see them before confirming. If an Auto Book appointment is cancelled or marked as a no-show, nothing is booked in its place — the pet shows in Needs follow-up instead.
What the pet owner sees
A Care Card for each pet
Owners open My pets and see, per pet and per shop, the next appointment or the suggested next groom, the care cycle you set, and one button — View appointment or Book next groom, which opens your booking page prefilled.
Owners can set up Auto Book themselves
An owner can turn Auto Book on for pets that already have a care cycle and a completed groom, pick a preferred day and time, and agree before it starts. You're notified when they do. Turning it off keeps their confirmed bookings. They can't change a care cycle, skip a groom or move a time — that still comes to you.
Grooming records
One record for the client, private notes for the team
The grooming record is now a single record, with team-only notes kept separately from what the client sees. Photos follow the same boundary.
Complete the record and notify the client as two steps
Finishing a record no longer sends a message by itself — you complete it, then choose to notify the client. On a phone, the internal record opens in a bottom sheet and saves from the header.
Book next at checkout
Book next keeps the date strip visible while you scroll through times, preselects tomorrow, shows prices next to each option, and reveals times after you've picked any additional visits. Completed visits carry into the staff-confirmed booking, and a repeated confirmation no longer creates a duplicate.
Data export
Download your own records, or schedule copies
Settings → Data export prepares a copy of your clients, pets and forms, appointments and care records, catalogue, payments and gift cards, team and pay, messages and call history, and business settings — with original photos and files if you want them. Narrow it by location or date range. You get an email and an in-app notification when it's ready, and seven days to download. You can also export one client's records from their profile.
Booking setup
Review the AI's booking-settings changes before they apply
Ask the assistant to change your booking setup and it prepares the whole change for you to read first — what it will change and what that means — and applies it only when you approve. On desktop you can edit the settings inline, and changes are explained before saving.
Payments and gift cards
Cash refunds are quoted and recorded
A cash refund on an appointment now shows the amount before you confirm and says plainly that you hand the cash back yourself; Seglo records it against the appointment.
Gift card expiry reads the same everywhere
Every surface derives a card's expiry from the same date, so a card is "active" in one place and not expired in another no longer happens. Cancel & Refund and Transfer are refused on an expired card.
Smaller changes
- An owner now gets an email before a plan trial ends, stating when it ends.
- The pay-period email follows the business's real pay schedule instead of a fixed cycle.
- A scheduled termination is applied on its date, frees the seat once, and clears that person from future rosters.
- Opening a booking on mobile takes one request instead of several, and a slow read no longer overwrites a fresher payment total.
- The mobile Messages composer no longer jumps when you tap into it.
- The public footer links to the Seglo status page.
- The Instagram integration has been removed.
