How many dogs can I actually fit in a day?

How many dogs fit in a day is not set by how fast you groom. It is set by the parts of a groom that need nobody: the dryer running, the coat settling, the finished dog waiting on an owner who is late. Book back to back on hands-on time alone and you spend hours standing next to a dryer, then rush the last dog of the day. The decision is whether owners get a time or a window. Fixed appointment times are easier to sell and leave every one of those dead minutes in place. Drop-off windows let the drying and the waiting stack behind other dogs, so a bath can start while a clip finishes, and they buy back real hours at the cost of explaining that the dog goes home between two and four rather than at three. Either way, the thing to schedule against is not your own hands. It is the bath, the dryer, the table and the crate, because those are what run out first.
