How do I keep owners updated without losing the day to the phone?
Talking to grooming clients is not a marketing problem, it is an interruption problem. Every call taken with wet hands costs a few minutes and the thread of what you were doing, and almost all of those calls are the same four questions: is he ready, how much will it be, can I move Thursday, and what happened to his face. The decision is which of the four you answer before they are asked. A confirmation when the booking is made, a reminder the day before, a message with a photo when the dog is ready, and a rebooking prompt afterwards will remove most of the traffic, because the owner already has the answer. What is left is the conversation that genuinely needs you: a coat that has changed the plan, a dog who cannot be finished, a complaint. The cost is that it has to be reliable. Once owners expect a pickup message, a dog finished at two and messaged at four reads as a groom that ran late.
