Staff eligibility for factor-based services
Who can take a factor-based booking is decided by service-level skills — pricing factors adjust price and duration only, they never gate staff.
Updated 19 July 2026
For services that use factor-based pricing, staff eligibility is determined by service-level skills — the same mechanism used for every other service type. Pricing factors (coat condition, weight, vehicle size, etc.) adjust price and duration only; they do not gate which staff members can take the booking.
How eligibility works
A staff member is eligible to take a factor-based booking if they have the service skill for that service. There is no separate per-factor or per-option skill to assign.
To manage who can perform a factor-based service:
- Business → Team → click the team member.
- Open the Skills tab.
- Tick the services they can perform.
- Save.
That's the only setup needed. Customers will see only eligible staff in the slot picker, and the booking will confirm without a separate factor-skill check.
Booking Readiness widget
The Booking Readiness widget on your dashboard flags the one real configuration gap for factor-based services: a service that is set to factor-based pricing but has no pricing factors configured yet. Fix it by opening the service and adding at least one pricing factor.
The widget does not flag per-option or per-staff skill gaps for factor options — those checks have been removed.
Troubleshooting
- "No available staff" at booking time. The booked staff member may be missing the service-level skill. Open their profile, Skills tab, and grant the service.
- "Quote expired" at checkout. Quotes hold for 15 minutes. After that the customer has to re-confirm.
