Set up Seglo Phone
Get your team taking business calls in the Seglo app — bring your existing number or get a new one, then add the staff who answer.
Updated 17 August 2026
When you want your team taking and making business calls on their own phones — no handsets, no forwarding, one shared business number — this is where you get set up. You either bring the number you already advertise or we set you up with a new one, then switch on the staff who should be able to answer.
Open in app: Phone Numbers
Seglo Phone is your team's calling line. It's a separate product from the AI Receptionist, which answers calls with AI — you can run either or both on the same number. This page is about getting your team calling.
Choose your number — bring one or get a new one
The first thing we ask is whether you have a number to bring across:
- Bring my existing number. We transfer ("port") your current business number to Seglo. Your existing phone keeps working the whole time, and the switch happens with no downtime. A transfer usually takes 3–10 business days, depending on your current provider.
- Get a new number. We set you up with a new Australian number. It's ready in a day or two — no transfer, no paperwork.
Either way the setup is the same, and you can't miss calls during a transfer: nothing changes on your old line until the moment your number goes live in Seglo.
Know what it costs before you commit
Seglo Phone is billed on its own, separate from your other Seglo subscriptions, so it always appears as its own line item:
| One-time setup | $149 (bring a number or get a new one) |
| Monthly | $79 — includes 2 devices |
| Extra devices | $29/month each, up to 5 devices total |
| Calls, SMS, MMS | Unlimited standard Australian use, under fair use |
| Minimum term | Month-to-month — cancel anytime, no exit fee |
A device is any phone or tablet signed in to Seglo Phone, so one team member using both a phone and a tablet counts as 2. Fair use means normal business conversations — no marketing blasts, bulk or spam messaging, or automated sending; misuse can lead to suspension. The full pricing and terms are in the Critical Information Summary.
Complete the setup
Once you've picked how you're getting your number, the flow walks you through it one step at a time, and you can leave and come back — your progress is saved:
- Review and subscribe. We confirm your choice is possible first (for a transfer, we check the number can actually be ported) and only then take the $149 setup fee. Your $79/month doesn't start until your number is live.
- Give us the details. Your business name, ABN, and the service address for the number. If you're bringing a number, also your current provider, account number and PIN, and a signed authorisation plus a recent bill. Don't worry if you can't find your account number — it's usually on your latest bill, and we'll tell you clearly if anything's missing rather than leaving you guessing.
- Track your progress. You'll see exactly where things are up to — submitted, checking, transferring, live — with an estimated date. If we need anything more, we say so with a clear next step; you won't have to start over.
- Go live. When your number is ready, we'll ask you to install the app and make a test call before the switch, so nothing slips through. At the switch, calls start arriving in the Seglo app.
Add the staff who answer
In settings, switch on phone access for a team member, and they sign in on their device:
- The first 2 devices are included in your $79/month.
- Each device after that is +$29/month — you'll see the cost before you confirm.
- Up to 5 devices on your number. If you're at 5 and need to add someone, remove a device first.
The first time a staff member opens the phone, they accept a short emergency-calling notice on their own device — until they do, their dialler stays locked. We prompt them automatically, and your device list shows who's still to do it, so you're never left wondering why someone can't call yet.
Make emergency calls
You can call 000 and 112 from Seglo Phone. Because it works over the internet, two things matter: it needs an active internet connection and power (if either is down, use a mobile), and emergency services see the service address you registered, not your live location — so keep your address up to date, and tell the operator where you are if you're calling from somewhere else.
Change your mind
- The $149 setup is fully refundable until we submit your transfer to the carrier (or activate your new number); after that it's non-refundable, because the work is done.
- The $79/month is month-to-month — cancel anytime, no exit fee. And if you're not happy in your first 10 business days after going live, cancel and we'll refund that month.
Because Seglo Phone has its own invoice, a refund here never affects your other Seglo subscriptions.
