Subscription plan and upgrades
Add the staff and locations you've outgrown, unlock the feature that's locked, or trim costs — and the tier-by-tier limits most owners never read.
Updated 19 July 2026
Your plan sets the ceiling on your business — how many staff you can add, how many locations you can run, and which features are switched on. You come here the day you hit one of those ceilings: a new hire you can't add, a second shop, or a feature that's greyed out because it lives a tier up. Most changes take effect the moment you confirm, and the price difference is settled on your next invoice — you don't wait for the billing cycle to roll over.
Only a business owner can open this page or change the plan. The card on file in Billing is what gets charged, so make sure it's valid before you switch.

See exactly what your plan covers right now
The Current Plan card at the top is your at-a-glance health check. It shows your tier name, the monthly price ($X/month + GST), and your Next billing date. If your plan includes monthly usage credit, the card shows the dollar amount (for example, $25 usage credit included monthly) with a View Credits link through to your credit balance.
Watch the two badges next to the tier name — they change what you can do:
- Trial means you're inside your free trial. You get full Starter-level access during it (3 staff, 1 location, online payments and Tap to Pay) regardless of which tier you eventually pick — so a trial isn't a stripped-down preview, it's a real working Starter plan.
- Past Due means a charge failed. Access starts to degrade until you fix the card in Billing — this is the most common reason a feature suddenly stops working.
Add more staff than your plan allows
Running out of staff seats is the number-one reason owners upgrade, and the limit is rarely where people guess. Each tier caps your team at a hard number:
- Starter — up to 3 staff
- Growth — up to 6 staff
- Scale — up to 15 staff
- Enterprise — up to 30 staff
- Custom — unlimited
The cap is printed on every tier card below the current-plan card. Match it to your team plus a little room to grow, then upgrade from the card for that tier. The new seats are available immediately.

Run a second (or tenth) location
Location count is the other hidden ceiling. Starter and Growth both allow exactly one location — open a second branch on either and you'll be blocked until you move up. Scale and everything above it allow unlimited locations from one dashboard. If you're opening a new shop, this is the line that decides your tier, not the staff count.
Unlock a feature that's greyed out
When a button or page is locked, it's almost always tier-gated — the feature exists, your plan just doesn't include it yet. Knowing which tier turns it on saves you from over-paying:
- Growth adds intake and consent forms, staff timesheets and check-in/out, leave management with approvals, the daily staff briefing, and PII data handling.
- Scale adds Xero two-way sync, the loyalty program, unlimited locations, automatic gap filling and AI waitlist matching, and staff performance ranking.
- Custom adds programmatic API access and a dedicated account manager.
Online payments and Tap to Pay on iPhone are on every paid tier, including Starter — you never need to upgrade for those. Read down each card's feature list and pick the smallest tier that covers what you're missing.
Add the AI receptionist or an extra phone number without changing tier
This is the part most owners miss entirely: the AI receptionist and extra phone numbers are add-ons, not tier features. You can bolt them onto any plan — even Starter — for a flat monthly fee:
- AI receptionist — $149/month, plus $0.40/minute of inbound call time drawn from your credit balance. It answers calls, books appointments, and handles enquiries around the clock.
- Additional phone number — $49/month each, for a separate line per location.
So you don't have to jump to Scale just to get the AI receptionist. The Custom tier includes one phone number to start; every other tier includes none until you add one.
Switch your plan
- On the card for the tier you want, click the button — it reads Upgrade to [tier] when you're moving up or Downgrade to [tier] when you're moving down.
- A confirmation dialog summarises the new plan and its monthly price, and notes that your next invoice will be prorated — you only pay (or get credited) the difference for the days left in the cycle. Proration runs both ways, so a mid-month downgrade isn't money lost.
- Click Confirm [tier] to apply, or Cancel to back out.

The new tier takes effect immediately. One timing detail to know: any included monthly credit from a higher tier isn't added the instant you confirm — it lands once your payment clears, not before. So don't expect the larger credit balance to show up the same second you upgrade.
Start a plan from a trial or talk to sales
If you're still on a trial or have no active plan, the cards read Start with [tier] instead of upgrade or downgrade. Clicking one opens a secure checkout to enter your payment details and begin. Every paid tier comes with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required when you first sign up.
The Custom tier isn't self-serve — its card reads Talk to Sales and opens an email to the Seglo team, who tailor limits, pricing, and credit for very large or multi-location operations.
Tips
- Two different ceilings push people to Scale. It's usually either the 15-staff jump or the move from one location to unlimited — check which one you're actually hitting before paying for the other.
- A downgrade silently disables features. Anything locked to your old tier — Xero sync, the loyalty program, intake forms — stops working the moment you drop below the tier that unlocked it. The downgrade dialog warns you, but it won't list which ones.
- You don't upgrade for the AI receptionist. It's a $149/month add-on on any plan. Jumping to a higher tier to "get the AI" is a common, expensive mistake.
- Usage rates are the same on every tier. SMS and AI-call minutes cost the same whether you're on Starter or Enterprise, and they're billed from your credit balance, not your monthly fee — see Usage.
- A failed card degrades access. When a trial ends or an invoice falls due, a bad card flips you to Past Due and features start switching off. Keep Billing current.
